It can be difficult for staff to find the time to develop strategy and implement plans. After all, there’s work to be done! And don’t even get us started on “strategic planning”. You took a class several years ago and that binder is just sitting on a shelf!
The main problem with “strategic planning” classes, in our opinion, is that they focus on the plan but fail to deal with implementation. McDoux takes a different approach. We will lead your staff and Board of Directors through the process of clarifying your mission and identifying meaningful goals, but we take the additional step of developing an immediately usable roadmap and annual work plan for you — so that you go forward with all of the tools that you need to move your organization from where you are today to where you want to be in five or ten years. And, although we use a proven process, we don’t rely on cookie-cutter solutions or tired, stock PowerPoint presentations and recycled planning documents.
Depending on your current capacity, you can work through the first year yourself or with as much coaching as you’d like. As we work together, we’ll help you identify your organization’s specific needs and provide the resources and assistance that enable you to do as much of the work yourselves as possible. When you’re short on time or expertise, we’ll fill in. As Year One draws to a close, we’ll help you create a plan for the second year, so that you’ll have the experience of annual planning and can move ahead with as much or as little additional support from us as you need and want.
